The AddThis Social Bookmarking Widget plugin was included on the site. It is what displays the +Bookmark icon in each post and links to numerous social bookmarking sites.

I think the social buttons are an distraction to the page, so on my WP blog I took them out to de-clutter the page, but that’s why opinion.
